Composite is a Danish owned software company founded in 1999. The company specializes in development of Web Content Management software (CMS). Composite are the creators of Composite C1, a professional Open Source CMS based on Microsoft .NET. Composite C1 was launched in 2009 and has since been adopted by a large number of corporations and organizations.

Composite C1 is distributed for free under the Mozilla Public License and is feature-wise 100% identical with the commercially licensed version. In addition to a commercial licence that gives companies benefits like product warranty, Composite also offers professional services like support, training, upgrade tools and a wide range of free and commercial modules.

Composite is a Microsoft Gold Partner and takes part in the work of the Technical Adaption Program aimed at provided technically-based feedback on functionality and instruction sets for the forthcoming .NET 4.0 and Visual Studio 2010.


Composite 3.8 is commercial Content Management System based on Microsoft technologies like .NET/ASP.NET, IIS, SQL Server and COM+, and open standards like XML/XSL, CSS and XHTML. Composite development began in 1999 and ended at 2007. Latest hotfix was produced in 2008 (Composite 3.8 E).
Composite C1 is a free open source .NET-based web content management system. Composite C1 development began mid 2007, it reached 1.0 in January 2009 and until September 2010 is was sold as a commercially licensed product primarily to customers in northern Europe. September 29th 2010 Composite released Composite C1 2.0 as free open source software under the Mozilla Public License, pledging to continue development on the free core and providing paid services.
